Beaches

This part of the Costa Blanca benefits from many glorious beaches of fine sand and warm water such as Guardamar, La Zenia, and La Mata, and the area also has a number of small and quiet bays with transparent water such as Campoamor and Cabo Roig.

A number of the beaches also offer facilities such as bars, restaurants, and volleyball nets; and the majority of the beaches have been awarded "blue flag" status, which reflects their superb quality.

The climate and the excellent beaches of course lend themselves to a variety of water sports like wind surfing, surfing, water ski-ing, etc. The International Sports Marina at Torrevieja also offers facilities for yachting and diving. Paragliding is also very popular in the area, and there are a couple of paragliding centres located to the north of Torrevieja at Santa Pola.

Cura Beach

Beach located between Punta Margallo and the northern dike of an important port, of fine and golden sand and with a beautiful palm environment. Behind it restaurants and other catering services follow one another showing one of the most bustling images in this tourist area.

Locos Beach

Fine golden sand, slight swell, flat sea bottom under clean deep blue waters are the characteristics of this beach. To the north, its environment is marked by small creeks following one another extending until Cabo Cervera. Beach adapted to people with reduced mobility.

Náufragos Beach

Sheltered by the southern dike of the port, it is one of the beaches in Torrevieja with more ludic and sport animation and wide range of activities. Of semi-urban aspect, it shows clean waters and fine almost white sand. Its environment is marked by Las Salinas and La Laguna in Torrevieja.

El Saler

Almost five kilometres of open beach of fine golden sand are a real luxury making it one of the most crowded beaches in the area. Sheltered from western winds by a dune chain of high ecological value and a wide extension of pinewoods giving its environment a wild and natural aspect. In summer, Garbí wind blowing in the evening makes this beach one of the favourite ones for windsurfing keens.

La Zenia Beach

Along the littoral of Orihuela, small rocky creeks opening to give way to small beaches shape an usual image which recurs from north to south, and this beach is a good example. Beach of fine and golden sand, with waters showing clearly green giving the beach a very attractive aspect. One of the creeks gathered in La Zenia, known as Cala Bosque, is adapted to people with reduced mobility.

South of Guardamar

As occurs in the other small towns along the southern coastline of Valencia, the crop fields and orange groves stretch down to the edge of the sea. Its coastline has the appeal of an open beach, with clean water and fine sand with a calm, relaxed, family atmosphere just a few minutes from bustling, lively tourist centres.
